[E-voting] E-voting: policy and practice - London 4th November

As a bit of a "new media professional" myself, I'm slightly terrified by a
conference that seeks to look at "how new media professionals and policy
makers can deliver effective e-voting solutions together."
I think the main focus of this event is the whole business of alternative
voting channels:
"ICT is invigorating the democratic progress, with the twin promise of
reducing administrative costs and boosting turn out. New media platforms
such as the web, email, interactive TV and wireless devices all offer new
ways of voting, and there is considerable interest in how these can
complement or replace the traditional polling booth and postal vote."
This stuff hasn't really been contemplated in Ireland as yet, but if anyone
on the list is in London on the day it would be no harm going along - the
registration fee isn't huge.
