You haven't seen sick until you've seen the ABN-AMRO internet banking 
client, which uses anonymous FTP for crypto key negotiation.  That's active 
ftp only, btw - they wouldn't want to cause any unnecessary convenience for 
the end-user.

scp doesn't naturally lend itself to restricted directory access, as it 
requires a remote shell at the other end.  Of course you can work around 
this, but it takes slightly more effort than ftp.
